Springville’s Oakridge School was the recipient of two devices that allow severely disabled students to “type words and even express feelings simply by moving their eyes.” The $1,200 EagleEye devices were donated to the school thanks to Boston College and Salt Lake City-based Opportunity Foundation of America.

State Senator Patrice Arent, D-South Cottonwood, and Attorney General Mark Shurtleff have been working to pass Senate Bill 52 (SB 52), which would make those who intentionally mislead others into giving personal information online a second-degree felony.

Salt Lake City-based Montigen Pharmaceuticals, which specializes in oncology-focused drug discovery and development, has been acquired by California-based SuperGen Inc. for $9 Million in cash and $9 Million in SuperGen common stock. Montigen founder David Bearss will assume post of vice president and chief scientist with new company.
